For the first time worldwide, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool is clinically validated for breast cancer diagnosis. Institut Curie and Ibex Medical Analytics, a pioneer in AI-based cancer diagnosis, demonstrate the performance, reliability and clinical application of an AI algorithm for breast biopsy diagnosis. These results were just published in the journal npj breast cancer.
Valeo and the Carnot Institute CEA LETI signed an agreement to collaborate on the next generations of power electronics, which are at the heart of the challenges facing tomorrow's electric mobility.
Carnot CEA LIST developed a real-time livestock monitoring system that leverages the analysis of video streams to identify individual animals and specific behaviors that can indicate disease or whether an animal is in heat, for example.
In 2021, Institut Curie start-ups raised 140.6 million euros. This impressive amount reaffirms Institut Curie's unique position as a key player in French innovation, driven by one ambition: to transform research into concrete applications for patients.
Visual inspection is the most common technique used for the maintenance of civil engineering structures like bridges. While it does offer the advantage of being non-destructive, visual inspection also depends on inspectors who interpret photographs and write up inspection reports—which then become the main source of information used by the operators of these structures to optimise their maintenance plans. SOCOTEC leads the project called SOFIA in partnership with Carnot CEA LIST Insitute to develop a groundbreaking inspection tool that will bring the power of artificial intelligence to machine vision. Together in a consortium with CEA LIST, SOFIA won a French call launched by CEREMA on “connected bridges”.
The two organizations will share a joint roadmap to create long-term disruptive technologies in France and Europe. The first scientific and technological areas of focus include virtual twin experiences in health and cybersecurity. The alliance aims to support French and European ecosystems in these domains and the digital trust dynamic. Alliance builds on the existing 20-year collaboration between the two organizations that has already helped advance science and innovation in digital technology.
