The 2016 French American Innovation Days (FAID) took place on February 9 and 10, 2016 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This conference was organized by the Office for Science & Technology of the Embassy of France in the United States and the GLOBAL CARE Initiative (a consortium of five Carnot Human Health Institutes), in collaboration with the MIT - France program. FAID2016 addressed the challenge of Precision Medicine & New Technologies - Transforming Clinical Research.

Building from 10 years of success at the national level, the Carnot institutes network is now organising to expand its partnership research offering  at the international level and better support to companies operating on increasingly global markets.One of the aims of this new deployment effort is to heighten its presence in European projects, strengthen its scientific relationships with the international research community and, of course, bring growth to its partnership R&D for enterprises at the international level.

The CALYM Carnot institute, an international academic research and development leader in the lymphoma field, obtains the ISO 9001:2008 certification for the management and monitoring of its partnering research activities.

-  The European Membrane Institute (IEM UMR 5635), a member of the Chimie Balard Carnot Institute, certified ISO  9001:2008

• Soitec and CEA sign a Five Year R&D Partnership on Advanced Engineered Substrates and Materials

• Fullbody Exoskeleton at SIGGRAPH 2013 : Developed entirely in the Ile-de-France region by Carnot institute CEA LIST, EMY (Enhancing MobilitY) is a full-body exoskeleton designed to help quadriplegic people regain mobility.

• In July, Alchimer signs Collaboration with CEA-Leti to Evaluate Metallization Processes for High Aspect Ratio TSV Applications.

• Claude ESTOURNES, researcher of the CIRIMAT Carnot institute with the Dr.Rachman CHAIM et Rachel MARDER and the professor Zhijian SHEN, received "Pfeil Award" for 2013.
• Dr. Christophe Drouet of the CIRIMAT Carnot institute received the price "Racquel LEGEROS Award" to the International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) for his contribution to research on calcium phosphate.
• Dr Marc Taillefer, researcher of the CED2 Carnot institute has received "the European Sustainable Chemistry Award 2012" of the European Chemical Society.
